Responsibilities: The Assistant Finance Director supports the Finance Director in the overall leadership of the department. This position plans, implements, manages and controls assigned activities of the Finance Department, including responsibility for the preparation of major reports, such as the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, Multi-year Financial Plan, and the Bond Rating Book. Perform duties related to the application of Governmental Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Standards as developed by GFOA and the application of GASB and GAAP as they relate to municipal finance.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field; and five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes municipal finance.
A Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field and CPA or CGFO is preferred. Municipal management experience in a progressive and / or fast growth community and experience working with developers on Tax Increment Financing (TIF) projects preferred.

Construction Inspector Subject to close without notice AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION Responsibilities: Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to ensure compliance to plans and specifications for City construction projects such as street/alley paving, earthwork/grading, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drainage, materials testing, and project safety. Employees in this classification perform professional and technical level work and possess considerable knowledge of applicable municipal, regional, and state regulatory practices. Position is responsible for monitoring quality control, construction site safety, and safe handling of traffic in construction and maintenance areas. Work involves technical examinations and the application of standard trade practices to inspection work. Inspections are conducted independently but in accordance with department regulations and established technical standards. Performs other related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required. Must have vocational/technical training and five (5) years of inspection and/or construction related experience. Ability to read and understand construction plans, shop drawings, standard details, and specifications related to applicable municipal, regional, and state regulatory practices is required. The ability to be certified by the American Public Works Association for Public Works and Construction Inspection is preferred. Must possess a valid Class C Texas Driver’s License. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
